# Lens Cap Labs > Lens Cap Labs Inc. is a software company in Plano, Texas, that brings together scientists, engineers, designers, artists, photographers and videographers around one mission: photo tools that run on the user's own machine, keep pictures private, learn the user's taste, and are owned outright. It was founded in 2026 by Dr. Suraj Raghuraman, formerly Head of AI Engine at Topaz Labs (2020 to 2026), a 2025 Technology and Engineering Emmy contributor, and a UT Dallas computer science PhD. It makes Frame37, a local AI photo app for all platforms that learns a user's own photo library and runs entirely on the user's computer. Nothing is uploaded. ## What Frame37 is Frame37 is a photo app for your own library. It catalogs the photos already on your computer, learns your style, your people and your places from them, fixes photos the way you would have, and generates the photos you never took. The name refers to a 35 mm roll of film, which has 36 exposures; frame 37 is the one you did not get. Key facts: - Runs entirely on-device on Apple silicon Macs. Training and generation happen on the user's own GPU or NPU. - No photo, prompt or result is uploaded. No account is required to use the app. It works with the network off. - Learns small personal models (adapters) per person, place, product and style from the user's library. These are files the user can inspect, back up or delete. - Editing is non-destructive; originals are never modified. - Generation works from a collage of pieces placed on a canvas rather than a long text prompt. - Generated images carry C2PA content credentials, are shown distinctly, and are never used for training. - Bought once and used for as long as the user likes; no tokens, credits or per-image metering. - Works unattended: overnight it indexes, learns, corrects a shoot in the user's style, restores, and proposes new pictures; the user keeps or discards them in the morning. ## Company principles - Local AI: https://lenscaplabs.com/local/ — the model runs where the pictures are, with no upload, queue or quota. - Privacy: https://lenscaplabs.com/privacy/ — nothing leaves the user's machine; what is made is marked as made. - Personalization: https://lenscaplabs.com/personalization/ — software should learn how you see from your own photographs, not describe a style back to you in words. - Ownership: https://lenscaplabs.com/ownership/ — a tool you own rather than rent, on your disk, under your control, with no meter. - Agentic: https://lenscaplabs.com/agentic/ — the app sorts, fixes and tries things on its own overnight with no usage limit; the user picks what to keep. ## Founder - Dr. Suraj Raghuraman: founder. Head of AI Engine at Topaz Labs, Dallas, 2020 to 2026, responsible for the on-device inference engine behind Topaz Photo AI, Video AI and Gigapixel AI and for partnerships with NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, Apple and Microsoft. Named a significant contributor to the 2025 Technology and Engineering Emmy (NATAS) for AI image/video enhancement in TV catalog restoration. PhD in computer science, UT Dallas (2017), 20+ publications, ACM Multimedia 2017 Best Student Paper, Intel AI Architecture Review Board, NVIDIA Developer Council. https://lenscaplabs.com/#founder ## Pages - Home: https://lenscaplabs.com/ - All five principles on one page: https://lenscaplabs.com/principles/ - Local AI: https://lenscaplabs.com/local/ - Privacy: https://lenscaplabs.com/privacy/ - Personalization: https://lenscaplabs.com/personalization/ - Ownership: https://lenscaplabs.com/ownership/ - Agentic: https://lenscaplabs.com/agentic/ ## Contact - Email: hello@lenscaplabs.com - Waitlist: https://lenscaplabs.com/#waitlist
